Marshside is a small and friendly Primary School serving the Marshside area, close to the historic village of Churchtown. We are in a wonderful location on the edge of a wetland bird sanctuary and are very fortunate to have large outside spaces including a large playground, a huge field and a raised platform overlooking the bird sanctuary. We even name our classrooms after birds local to our area.
We pride ourselves on the care and support we offer to all our children and their families. We know all our pupils very well and value each individual for the qualities, skills and attributes they bring to our school. We believe that learning should be enjoyable and know that children flourish and develop in an environment which provides care and promotes wellbeing.
Our Motto is ‘Treat Others As You Would Like To Be Treated Yourself, and this belief is embedded through all aspects of school life.
Our staff are committed to providing the best education for all our children. We provide a broad, creative and rich curriculum within a supportive learning environment. Children’s wellbeing and good health is central to our work and it is important to us that, above all, children enjoy their learning and experiences at Marshside. Every child is unique and we ensure they are given the opportunity to develop secure relationships where they can grow and develop at their own pace and with enjoyment.
Our unique location allows us to have lots of sporting and outdoor activities, these include developing motor skills through climbing walls and tyre steps, building team spirit and confidence through football, netball, athletics events. We use our playground for cycling proficiency and the older children will have swimming lessons at the local pool.
Our recent Ofsted Report praised our care, guidance and support for pupils and provision for their personal development and wellbeing. They recognised that the school is committed to improving the outcomes for the children and families.
We enjoy welcoming visitors to our school and encourage both existing and prospective parents and families to join in with all that we do.
Please contact Mrs Edge in our school office if you would like to make an appointment to view our school or have any comments to make about any aspect of school life
